Gerookte tamatiesop
Ingredients
- Sop in die vrieskas is altyd ’n wenner. Die gerookte paprika gee die sop ’n besonderse geur wat nie in die vriesproses verlore gaan nie.
- 3 rooi soetrissies
- 15 ml (1 e) olyfolie
- 2 knoffelhuisies, fyn gekap
- 2 x 400 g-blikke gekapte tamaties
- 250 ml-500 ml (1 k-2 k) hoenderaftreksel
- 5 ml (1 t) gerookte paprika
- sout en gemaalde swartpeper
- parmesaankrulle om mee voor te sit
- hand vol koljanderblare

- Spicy tomato soup
- Serves 4
- Soup in the freezer is always a winner. The smoked paprika gives the soup a unique flavour that is not lost in the freezing process. Smoked paprika is available at stores such as Woolworths and Pick n Pay. Serve cold for a summer fun.
- 3 red peppers
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
- 250 ml-500 ml (1 k 2 k) chicken stock
- 5 ml (1 t) smoked paprika
- salt and ground black pepper
- parmesan curls to serve
- handful of coriander
Instructions
Voorverhit die oond tot 200 ºC.
1. Rooster die soetrissies tot sag. Sny oop, verwyder die wit vliesies en pitte.
2. Verhit die olie in ’n kastrol oor matige hitte en soteer die knoffel daarin tot sag en deurskynend. Voeg die tamaties by en bring tot kookpunt. Voeg die soetrissies, hoenderaftreksel en paprika by. Maak fyn met ’n stokmenger. Geur na smaak.
3. Sit voor met parmesaankrulle (gebruik ’n groenteskiller) en koljanderblare.

Preheat the oven to 200 º C.
1.Roast the peppers until soft. Cut open, remove the white membranes and seeds.
2. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté the garlic until soft and translucent. Add the tomatoes and bring to a boil. Add the peppers, and paprika chicken. Mash with a stick blender. Season to taste.
3. Serve with Parmesan curls (use a vegetable peeler) and coriander.
